Use case

Organise medication reminders between family

When more than one person helps with medication, the logistics get tangled: who last collected it, when the repeat prescription runs out, whether it has been ordered yet. Nexy holds the thread so the people sharing the care know what is waiting and who did what, without a single person carrying it all in their head.

Each prescription cycle gets one thread that tracks when to reorder, who collects it, and confirmation it is done. Everyone helping gets the reminders in the chat they already use with no app to install, and when that cycle finishes the thread closes so nobody gets reminders for something that already happened.

What it looks like

One cycle, one thread, and when it is done everyone is left alone

How to do it

  1. You tell Nexy when the prescription needs reordering and when it needs collecting, and who else is helping.
  2. Each person gets one message in their usual chat app with an optional tap to follow the thread — no account, no install.
  3. Nexy reminds the group the evening before each deadline, when someone can still do something about it.
  4. Whoever handles it confirms in the thread, and everyone else sees it is done.
  5. When the medication is collected, the thread closes and nobody gets another notification about it.

Why it works

The timing mattersA reminder on the morning the prescription runs out is too late. Nexy lands them the evening before, when someone can still detour past the pharmacy or call it in.
Nobody carries it aloneThe person who usually remembers everything can be ill, away, or just tired. The thread holds what was agreed so it does not live in one person's head.
Done means actually doneWhen the medication is collected, that thread ends. There is no reminder a week later about something that already happened, which is how most shared task tools make people stop trusting them.
One cycle, one threadEach refill gets its own thread so it can close when finished. A permanent chat fills up with months of old confirmations that nobody can find anything in.
No app burdenThe person who helps occasionally does not install anything. They get it in WhatsApp or SMS, answer when they can, and are never asked to log in.

Where it stops

These limits are the point, not gaps waiting to be filled.

It is logistics onlyNexy does not store symptoms, conditions, dosage changes or clinical notes — only the mechanics of reordering and collection.
It does not assign tasksWhen a prescription needs collecting, Nexy announces it to everyone and waits for somebody to say they will do it — it never picks a person for you.
No medication databaseIt does not know drug names, interactions or dosages, and it does not try to — you tell it what needs doing and when.
It does not track adherenceWhether somebody took their medication today is not its job. It tracks the refill cycle, not daily doses.
It will not nagOne reminder per deadline, timed for when action is still possible, and then silence until the next cycle or until somebody asks.

Questions people ask

How do I set up medication reminders that go to multiple family members who are helping?

You tell Nexy when the prescription needs reordering and when it must be collected, and list the people helping. Each of them gets one message in the chat they already use — WhatsApp, SMS, whatever — with one optional tap to follow that thread. No app to install, no account to make. When someone handles it and confirms, the thread closes and everyone is left alone until the next cycle.

Can I use this to remind someone to take their medication every day?

No. Nexy handles the logistics of refills and collection between the people sharing the care, not daily adherence. It reminds you when the prescription is running out and needs reordering, and when it is ready to collect. Daily medication reminders are a different kind of tool, usually for the person taking the medication themselves, and mixing the two creates noise that makes people ignore the important stuff.

What happens if nobody confirms they collected the prescription?

Nexy does not assign it to someone or escalate endlessly. It sends one reminder the evening before the collection deadline, when there is still time to act. If nobody responds, the thread stays open and visible to everyone in the group so the gap is obvious, but it does not nag. The people involved can see what is waiting and decide between them who does it, which is how shared care actually works.

Does the other person have to install an app or make an account to get medication reminders?

No. They get one message in whatever chat app they already use, with a link to follow that specific thread if they want updates too. If they ignore it, nothing happens — they are not in, and they get nothing further. If they tap once, they see the thread and get the reminders, all inside WhatsApp or SMS or Telegram, with no separate login and no new app taking up space on their phone.

How does Nexy know when to remind us about prescription refills?

You tell it. You say when the medication runs out and needs reordering, and when the prescription needs collecting. Nexy does not connect to a pharmacy system or track medications itself — it just holds the dates you gave it and reminds the group at the right moment. The reminder lands the evening before each deadline, when someone can still do something, not the morning of when it is often too late.

Can I have separate threads for each different medication?

Yes, and that is the recommended shape. One medication cycle per thread means each one can close when that refill is collected, so you are not scrolling past three months of old confirmations to find the current one. If someone takes four repeat prescriptions, you would run four threads, each timed to its own refill cycle. They do not interfere with each other and each ends cleanly when done.

What if the pharmacy is delayed and we need to push the collection date back?

Just tell Nexy in the thread. It adjusts the deadline and will remind again the evening before the new date. The whole group sees the update in the same thread, so everyone knows the plan changed and nobody turns up expecting it to be ready when it is not. This happens often enough that the ability to shift a date without starting over is part of how it works, not a special case.

Does Nexy store medical information or share it with anyone?

It stores only the logistics you gave it: what needs doing, when, and who confirmed it was done. It does not know diagnoses, dosages, symptoms or clinical history, and it never asks for them. If you write the medication name in the thread that stays in the thread, visible to the people you included, but Nexy does not parse it or connect it to anything external. It is a coordination layer for the people already trusted with the care, not a medical record system.
